Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our 3 North Medical/Surgical unit. The RN will provide comprehensive care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with medical conditions. This role involves assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, delivering direct care, and educating patients and families for continued health beyond hospitalization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care using clinical knowledge and technical skills.
2. Assess patient conditions and develop culturally relevant, individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
3. Monitor patient progress, adjust care plans as needed, and ensure optimal outcomes.
4. Educate patients and families on self-care practices, lifestyle changes, and post-hospitalization needs.
5. Promote a healing environment by providing emotional support and building trusting relationships with patients and families.
6. Administer medications and perform interventions with precision and care.
7. Maintain compliance with infection prevention protocols to ensure public safety.
8. Engage in continuous professional development to enhance nursing practice.

Qualifications:

1. NYS RN Licensure required.
2. Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (AHA or RQI only).
3. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
4. Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Schedule:

1. Full-time (36 hours/week) with rotational Day/Night/Weekend/Holiday shifts.
2. Includes 2 on-call shifts every 4 weeks.
